I hope the journey through this site is one which is eye opening, spiritually uplifting and beautiful. For Africans I hope it lifts the veils of shame and secrecy which covers the healing art of the most ancient civilisation on earth. Our knowledge is as ancient as we are and its survival intact is a testament to the strength of the foundations from which we come.

  • What does our name mean and stand for? Open or Close

The name directly translated into English means Bottles of Nature. The inspiration for this name came as a direct result of the medicines being based on African healing systems and in particular my own background being from KwaZulu Natal. When people go to the local medicine men and women called iZinyanga, they say they are going to fetch their bottles referring to the old alcohol bottles which were recycled and used as the bottles for the medicines given to patients.

As these bottles contain decoctions mainly plant material and water (nature) so came the name, Amabhodlela Emvelo.

The inclusion of the word “Emvelo” which is nature or natural is our commitment to keeping the products as natural as possible without compromising on the goodness and strength of nature to heal our bodies. This is why most of the Herbal remedies are packaged in teabags to allow for no added preservatives and also to be in the correct dosage to take the guesswork out of preparing herbal remedies.

These African Herbal remedies and products are meant to assist our bodies to be at their optimal level of health. They are also meant to act in concert with the body to restore and maintain the state of wellbeing which is optimal for each individual body.
